Four of South Korea’s best acts will perform in Manila on May 29, 2022 at 5 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for “Begin Again: KPOP Edition.” NCT DREAM, SHINee’s KEY, WEi, and ALICE will play their latest hit songs on the Philippine stage, and fans are sure to have a good time.
The performance will be headlined by NCT DREAM, who are coming off the success of their album “Glitch Mode.” NCT DREAM, who debuted in March and sold over 2 million albums, recently wrapped up their promotional tour. This makes them a double million-seller for the second year in a row, a milestone just a few bands have accomplished.
NCT DREAM, which appears to be a magnet for historic milestones, is about to cross another off its list. The band is the last to perform a live concert in the Philippines before COVID-19 is implemented in 2020. After two years, they’ll be one of the first international performers to perform live again. With their return to the country, NCT DREAM is undoubtedly fulfilling dreams.
Labelmate KEY, SHINee’s star dancer and lead rapper, will perform with the group. KEY debuted as a solo artist in 2018 with the single “Forever Yours,” which he immediately followed up with the full-length studio album “Face.” The album reached number 5 on the Gaon Chart in Korea and reached number 10 on the US World Albums Chart.
KEY launched his debut mini-album, “Bad Love,” in September of last year, earning him another top spot on the Gaon Chart. The titular tune was also a financial and critical triumph, winning the Music Core award and being named the Best KPOP Song of 2021 by The Ringer.
WEi, an OUI Entertainment boy group with six members, is also taking part in the festivities. Despite having only been together for two years, the trio is no stranger to the spotlight. DAE HYEON, DONG HAN, YONG HA, YO HAN, SEOK HWA, and JUN SEO all have their own personalities, and WEi, as a fourth-generation youth hero, is adored by both local and international admirers.
The group published their fourth mini-album, “Love Pt.1: First Love,” in March of this year, with the primary title “Too Bad.” The album reached number five on Korea’s Gaon Chart after selling over 100,000 copies.
ALICE, made up of members EJ, Do-A, Chaejeong, Yeonjae, Yukyung, Sohee, and Karin, is the last but not least. At the 24th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards in 2018, the group was won Best Rookie Group. These frightening ladies are ready to wow on stage after releasing their latest single “Power of Love” on May 4th.
The 2-hour event is the country’s first live KPOP show since the COVID-19 ban. Come see outstanding performers on one platform and don’t miss this historic event.
