Relax and stay at the Gabutero Organic Farm Resort

I have always been intrigued by organic farming since my own family owns their own farms. While I was in Oriental Mindoro, Department of Tourism Region IV-B (MIMAROPA) took me and the rest of the media group to visit the Gabutero Organic Farm Resort. I attended the Press conference of Municipal Mayor Elegio “Elgin” A. Malaluan, Gabutero Organic Farm Resort owner and Mr. Nelson B. Gabutero, Senior Municipal Tourism Council President Mr. Felicito Matunan and Municipal Tourism Officer Mr.Solon Morillo.

The resort is DOT-accredited Agri-Farm Tourism Site and an Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and TESDA accredited learning site. This means that if you wish to learn about organic farming, this place is the one best places to educate yourself about it.

We had a few snacks from straight from the organic farm which included fruits and sandwiches. Mr. Nelson B. Gabutero then took us an on tour around his resort. We first visited the greenhouse. I haven’t been to a greenhouse in years and it was nice to meet the local farmers planting the lettuces.

I was introduced to the “Dragon Fruit”, “Miracle Fruit” and “Insulin Plant” among others. I was informed that the Miracle Fruit can help treat diabetes. The same goes for the Insulin plant. These plants are useful to me since diabetes is in my family genes.

I really had fun at “Butterfly Farm” where I took tons of photos and videos of the butterfly. One of the workers told me that once the butterfly mates, the male companion dies. The resort has plenty of sunflowers and they plan to grow more since it’s a huge hit among tourists.

The farm has swimming pools both for adult and children’s) with water slides and huts, They also have rooms good for 4-6 people, They also affordable rooms function hall which is good for family reunions and company outings. They also have plenty of animals at the farm which included pigs and fishes. If you’re looking for a good place to relax, eat organic food and have fun for an affordable rate, the Gabutero Organic Farm Resort is my staycation point.

May 26, 2019Niceee! This is so unique! I remember when we went to a farm in Iloilo before. Though it’s Pilgrimage farm– no pool and accommodations, but it gives the same vibes. The same peaceful and organic vibes. 💕
