Flying House: Where Rockstars love to eat

Flying House is not a well-known restaurant or bar among to an everyday typical kind of person but to the underground scene to the people up in the North, this place is has many legendary stories.. I have been to a lot of restaurants but of course I gotta represent also the local restaurant scene in the Philippines.

One of my last food blog post was about the delicious authentic Mexican dishes from my good friend from Arizona Coach George Castro. You can find out more about his delicious dishes by visiting: http://kristianmarfori.com/george-castros-homegrown-mexican-dishes-in-the-philippines
But before his Mexican dishes started making a name for himself here, Flying House also earned its own reputation especially among the top local bands in the country. Flying House was not built in a typical restaurant/bar. Flying House was literally built in a house by the owner Timi who was happy enough to talk about her baby. Her baby meaning “Flying House”

A lot of the local bands right after their gigs and events would love a place that they can relax and chill after a great concert. I was very fortunate to meet some of the members of the famous rock bands in the Philippines. It’s great to hang out with musicians and I was lucky enough to experience that lifestyle. Some of the great bands that actually hung out at Flying House is Kamikazee, Parokya Ni Edgar, Urban Dub and Franco to name a few. It was from one of the bands that decided to name the restaurant “Flying House” and the name just stuck.
Flying House has a lot of great dishes. They even have a dish named after ONE FC Champion Brandon Vera who also happens to be a regular. Some of the main dishes which are popular among the crowd is
- Flying Pig
- Flying House Burger Steak
- Ribeye Steak
They also have the Happy Birthday Spaghetti which is also a favorite among the regulars.
Although, they have a lot of great dishes, not many of the dishes are revealed in their menu. The Flying House has a secret menu and that’s where the restaurant had made a name for itself.

Introducing Flying House Sisig Pizza. The concept was that it wanted to give a customers a different feel since Filipinos love sisig! Why not mix sisig with pizza and it goes great with a nice cold San Miguel Light in your hand. I can see why a lot of the famous OPM bands like to eat and kick it here.

Another secret dish is the Flying House Pancit Canton. Now this dish is quite unique. According to Timi, she said this dish is meant to make the customers feel at home. If you can’t make it home, Flying House got your back. The dish is a typical canton with corn beef and toasted bread on the side. You’re probably thinking on what makes this typical dish so special when anyone can make it? To answer your question, there is a secret ingredient that is added to his famous dish. Unfortunately, the secret ingredient is a well-guarded secret that can’t be in revealed in public. So that means, you need to try it out and guess what that their secret ingredient that makes this dish so damn good!
Now remember, these dishes aren’t on the menu so you have to request it from the waiter. Just tell them you got it here and you can eat like a rockstar!
