Singapore’s Rong Hua Bak Kut Teh Is Now In Manila

If you have been to Singapore, Rong Hua Bak Kut Teh is known for its signature pork ribs soup recipe. It currently has three branches in Singapore and its first branch in Manila is the first branch out of the Lion city.

You’re probably wondering why I’m so excited about this restaurant and I have the right to be for a large number of reasons. I will explain each of my favorite dishes so read away!

Bak Kut Teh, a famous morning meal, literally means “meat bone tea.” Its basic recipe includes meaty pork ribs simmered for hours in a complex broth of herbs and spices, including star anise, cinnamon, cloves, dang gui, fennel seeds, coriander, and garlic. The dish’s heritage goes all the way back to the 19th century when Chinese immigrants in Singapore and Malaya developed this recipe for their daily dose of energy boost,

The Stir Fry Ginger Garlic Chicken is my favorite! It has this distinctive flavor with some Asian fusion of spices. This is a must-try dish for everyone who loves chicken and wants to experience the taste of Asia.

My second favorite would be the Hometown Chicken. This small but delicious meal got me addicted and I was craving for more! This was the small batch and I think it’s wise to get the larger batch.

Chicken Feet if commonly known as Adidas in the Philippines but this Braised Chicken Feet tasted amazing with the beef curd. It’s hard to explain but you need to try it along with your bowl of rice.

Pork Rib Soup Premium. now where I can begin with this meal. The soup gave me quite a kick along with the Pork Rib. The pork was soft and tender that I completed finished it till the bone. Another must-try!

The Honey Baked Chari Sao is another awesome dish. I prefer this with my rice and chicken. I don’t mind mixing my food.

Now, I am not a Tofu lover but this steamed tofu would be an exemption to me. Not to soft, its texture is just about right and the meat just goes so well with it! Let’s just say I didn’t need rice for this.

We all need dessert after a great meal but this dessert is totally different! The Buko Pandan Panna Cotta was so soft that I could taste the coconut going all over my mouth. I had two of these!

Last but not least would be this great drink. I love mangoes so if you’re a mango lover, this is the perfect drink to wash it all down.
Rong Hua Bak Kut Teh offers a variation of pork soups like pork tenderloin soup, pig liver soup, pig kidney soup, and pigtail soup. Other recommended items on the restaurant’s menu are the Hometown Fried Chicken, Spinach With Top Shell Abalone, Sliced Smoke Duck in Crispy Spring Roll Skin.
