Gloc-9 Has A New Propelling Single “Di Umiinom” Featuring Hero
Five down and three to go! Our Paboritong Makata continues his poetic journey with his Pilak album, a musical commemoration of his 25 years in the Philippine music industry.
Before the end of August, Gloc-9 releases “Di Umiinom,” the fifth single from his forthcoming anniversary album. This time, he shares the spotlight with Hero, another new talent from Asintada Management.
When someone has been severely injured and has reached their breaking point, they may conduct actions they have never done before. Perhaps they are using this action as a coping method to escape their anguish and sadness. This is how the experienced rapper formulated the song “Di Umiinom.”
In this particular single, he enlists the assistance of the emerging hip-hop talent Hero, whose precise bars and deft rhymes boost the whole atmosphere. Their verses are mesmerizing, seductive, and tinged with melancholy as they confront the tragic and agonizing subject with unwavering conviction. The concept of this song is truly something new and something that Makata Sa Pinas has never attempted before, which is why he is so happy about this release. In addition, Thyro Alfaro once again offered excellent mixing and arrangement.
This special release is accompanied by a dynamic music video directed and edited by Aaron Maag. (WATCH HERE)
Since Gloc-9 started on a tour of the United States for the OPM Summerfest festivities abroad with other renowned local artists, he could no longer film his roles in the Philippines. Our Paboritong Makata found a way to provide his portions for the song video, partly due to Mark Escueta, whose band Rivermaya was also performing in the concert series. During the New York leg of the tour, they captured the footage using his trusted Samsung S22+ or, in his own words, “just like that.” In contrast, Hero’s scenes were shot at Tipsy Pig in Quezon City.
This is the third collaboration between Gloc-9 and Hero; the previous two garnered over 1.2 million views on YouTube. “Di Umiinom” is available on all digital platforms via Universal Records.
