The First Community Outreach Program At Maker Space

As part of addressing common concerns in this time of pandemic and giving back to the community, the 021 Maker Space Dream The 021 Maker Space Dream Incubator coworking space held its first Community Outreach Program on September 12, 2020, with the theme “We Care, We Share,” to address common issues in this time of pandemic and to give back to the community. We Can Achieve More When We Work Together.” The Philippine Dragon Media Network (PDMN) and XBistro Laboratory collaborated on the abovementioned community event.

The destitute families of Barangay 282, San Nicolas, Manila, the Medical Frontliners of Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital in Binondo, Manila, and certain street dwellers in the Binondo, Sta. Cruz, and Intramuros regions have been picked as beneficiaries.

A total of 200 poor families of Barangay 282 benefited from the 021 Maker Space community outreach program. Each family received a The 021 Maker Space community outreach program benefitted 200 impoverished families in Barangay 282. A food bag containing rice, canned items, instant noodles, and a face protection was given to each family. With the help of Barrio 282 Chairman Steven Yap and Council, the activities in the barangay was made possible. The 021Maker Space coworking team gave 4 litres of wine to the barangay, and Chairman Yap was given a plaque of appreciation for his help in ensuring a successful and peaceful occasion.

The coworking space team was also able to donate 100 food bags to the underprivileged street dwellers around Binondo, Sta. Cruz, and Intramuros, Manila, with the support of volunteers from Starlight Business Consulting Services.

Furthermore, as part of the O21 Maker Space coworking community outreach program, they delivered a total of 100 meal packets to the Medical Frontliners of Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital in Urbiztondo St, Manila, made with love by XBistro Laboratory. Aside from the food packets, the hospital frontliners received a Certificate of Appreciation for their selflessness and unwavering fight against the Covid19 infection.

“We realize that what we offered to our poor comrades and medical frontliners today was insufficient, but we hope that our tiny effort could make a difference to them,” says a spokesperson from 021 Maker Space.
