New Mexican Delight in Eastwood: Fiery Style Southwestern Flaming Grill

I felt like it’s Cino De Mayo all over again! It’s been a busy week and I was grateful to be invited to the opening of another Mexican restaurant called “Fiery Style Southwestern Flaming Grill”. I already had some great Mexican food the other day and I was already craving for more!
I got up and I headed all the way to Eastwood on an empty stomach. I finally found the place at Eastwood mall where I was greeted by the staff. The staff greeted me with the word “Hola!” which means hello in Spanish. I did not expect that so that already made my day. The waitresses were all dressed up in cowgirl gear and ready to serve,

Now before I eat anything, I need to have some starters. At any Mexican restaurants, the best starters would be the Nachos. The waitress came in with a huge metal bowl but once she pulled the metal off, I was greeted with the sight of nachos. It was a mountain of nachos one set over the other! Now I know on why they call it the Fiery Nachos

I tasted the Nachos and it was really good with toppings on ever set. I especially the liked colors of each nacho with a color combination of yellow, green and black. The overall taste of the Fiery Nacho is 8/10. Tip: You might want to eat this with a friend since it’s heavy on the stomach
I wanted to try something a little bit different so I looked into the menu and I saw steak! I said to myself that’s something that I needed to sink my teeth on. There was a bunch of steak to choose from but I chose the 16oz Rib Eye Steak

The Rib Eye Steak is a flaming favorite and a must-try at this restaurant. I had mine rare along with my chorizo rice. The steak was just perfect and juicy that the juice went all around my month. The chorizo rice just blends and compliments the steak well. Rating for the steak: 8/10
We had many Mexican dishes like the tacos and quesadillas but I decided to save the best meal for last! I ordered the “Lord of Wings” and I was blown away.

Now, what I love about the Lord of the Wings is the way the wings were displayed. I never seen wings displayed to me like that before. Usually, in the Philippines, it would just be on a plate. This time, I had my wings up in the air! Lord of the Wings has around 24 chicken wings, 8 of each are topped with the following flavors
- Hot Hot Hot Sauce & Jalapeños. FYI these wings are really hot, so make sure you got a glass of ice cold water to flush it down your throat!
- Nacho Cheese and Bacon. This is my favorite! It tasted just like cheese on wings. I finished this flavor up!
- Texan-Style BBQ: If you had Tex-Mex bbq before, it’s exactly the same and really sticky on the fingers so make sure you handful of tissues next to you.

The restaurant offers a wide varieties of combos, desserts, cocktails, grills, pizza and the list goes on and on! I wouldn’t call this just a Mexican restaurant. This would be a Mexican restaurant that has a little bit of everything!

But the most popular would have to be the Combinatones. They are quite affordable and below the PhP 300. If you’re in tipid mode or a budget, take a look at the list below
- Combo Uno – Quartered Fiery Grilled Jerk Chicken with jalapeno side salad and your choice of rice (PhP 218)

We had a quick chat with the owner Mr. Philipp Danao who is the first Franchise owner of the 9th Fiery Style Southwestern Flaming Grill branch in the Philippines. He mentioned that the restaurant not only has Mexican food but also Filipino as well. They have food not only for adults but they also have food for children as well. Food like wings, burgers, and ribs! I asked him on what would be the first dish to recommend to people who have never eaten at this restaurant and he encouraged everyone to try their best seller which is the Rib Eye Steak. I had to agree with him. I couldn’t stop eating it! I was curious if they do delivery and he said it’s currently in the works but once it’s operational, he will let the public know.

I finally ended my interview with him and informed him that we have a small Mexican community in the Philippines and I asked Mr. Danao if he had any special message for them. He replied with a smile and said, “You’re all welcome, Hola! to Fiery Style in Eastwood and to all of the branches. Please come and visit. Gracias, everyone!”
